Scripture On Shape of Earth and Rotation of Sun
Let’s see what the Bible says about the earth, sun, moon, and stars.
The Earth has pillars-He controls the Sun’s movement.
Job 9:6-8 (NIV) He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. He speaks to the sun and it does not shine; he seals off the light of the stars. He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.
Job 9:6-8 (KJV) Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars. Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
The dome, sky, or firmament is like a molten looking glass.
Job 37:18 (NIV) can you join him in spreading out the skies, hard as a mirror of cast bronze?
Job 37:18 (KJV) Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Earth formed on the waters.
Genesis 1:9-10 (NIV) And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:9-10 (KJV) And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
How Earth was formed.
Psalm 24:1-2 (NIV) The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
Psalm 24:1-2 (KJV) The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Earth’s creation.
2 Peter 3:5 (NIV) But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
2 Peter 3:5 (KJV) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
How our Heavenly Father put the firmament to separate the waters below from the waters above. The Bible says there is water ABOVE the Earth.
Genesis 1:6-8 (NIV) And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
Genesis 1:6-8 (KJV) And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
The windows of heaven are opened (the flood)
Genesis 7:11 (NIV) In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
Genesis 7:11 (KJV) In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
The flood came from the clouds and heaven.
Psalm 78:23 (NIV) Yet he gave a command to the skies above and opened the doors of the heavens;
Psalm 78:23 (KJV) Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,
The Earth has a place! It is NOT flying around the universe.
Isaiah 13:13 (NIV) Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the Lord Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.
Isaiah 13:13 (KJV) Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
The Earth is a circle not a ball.
Isaiah 40:22 (NIV) He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Isaiah 40:22 (KJV) It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
Isaiah knew what a ball was but, he didn’t use that word to describe the Earth.
Isaiah 22:18 (NIV) He will roll you up tightly like a ball and throw you into a large country. There you will die and there the chariots you were so proud of will become a disgrace to your master’s house.
Isaiah 22:18 (KJV) He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.
Our Heavenly Father talks about stretching and spreading the Earth and the heavens but nowhere in the Bible does even hint of a round flying ball!
Isaiah 44:24 (NIV) “This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself,
Isaiah 44:24 (KJV) Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Spread out the Earth
Isaiah 42:5 (NIV) This is what God the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it:
Isaiah 42:5 (KJV) Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
The Ice wall of Antarctica?
Job 26:10 (NIV) He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.
Job 26:10 (KJV) He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
Many times the Bible uses the term to the ends of the Earth. No ends on a ball.
Job 28:24 (NIV) for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.
Job 28:24 (KJV) For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
Heavenly Father’s measure is longer than the Earth broader than sea.

Throne above firmament/vault
Ezekiel 1:26-28 (NIV) Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.
Ezekiel 1:26-28 (KJV) And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
